I'm sure Sonos WILL have this app; just wait after Windows 8 is released!

Quite a few of us at Microsoft have Sonos systems and we'd love it if phone 8 and Windows 8 had great clients so we can work and play on the same device. If you need help with that do ask. Of course there may be a few million other Windows 8 users who also agree

Hi Andrew, Get proactive and find people get Microsoft and Sonos to get this kick started. Hold a boot camp...please. I love my Surface RT and this would make my day/week/month/year.

agreed.  We were considering Sonos for our work environment, but we run all Windows Tablets...need a modern "touch" UI for windows tablets and phones.

Maybe if more people ask you to support Windows 8, you'll listen....

Turning the desktop app into a Windows 8 (metro-style) app would be neat. That way the mini-controller could just be a tile, always showing you what's playing.

Its time for the Windows 8 app. Windows 8 touch screen devices are perfect for a Sonos controller app and of course millions of people will have Windows 8. Let's get on with it.

How about this Sonos...at least comment on this thread and let us know you are listening and hopefully that you are working on the app.

I don't hold my breath for Sonos controller App support for either Win8 RT or WP8. They haven't really been listening to their customers for a while. Come on Sonos.

"They haven't really been listening to their customers for a while."

I beg to differ:

I would love to control my Zones with a Live Tile in Windows 8 and to have a full screen app available in the Windows store that runs in Windows 8 tile mode, not in the desktop mode as a window.
I anticipate this is coming for Windows 8 tablets and therefore Windows 8 computers as well. Is there a timeline for this development?

Sonos -

It really is a simple question and one that you most definitely have an answer to...

Is a Metro app in the works?

I think it is great that there is this big list of things that Sonos has developed based upon customer feedback (per the comment/link above). I really do. And I am very appreciative.

But now customers are asking for Sonos to add a Metro App to that list. Showing what you "have done for us lately" as a response to all the comments here is passive aggressive response. The question is so clearly whether a Metro app is in the works?

Thanks.

PLEASE!

Don't let us alone. You will pay a hard price, not supporting Windows RT, Windows Phone and Xbox Music. Please implement it asap on SONOS and you will not lose your drive being an innovative company. Don't make the mistake sitting only in the Apple/Android corner....

Thank's to Santa Barbara....

Amen to that - Sonos must support the latest versions of the world's most popular OS, and that means Windows 8 & RT. I can't believe they don't, especially now they've stopped selling the CR controllers. All I have to control my Sonos with is a Windows Phone 8 and a Surface!

Controller for Windows 8 would be great especially that I'm converting everything to Windows 8 and just bought the Surface.

Yes, please make an app for the Windows Phone (8) ... Windows just released news that in 2012 75.000 new apps have been developed for the windows phone, and more and more people are getting it.

Please, please make an app for WP8!!! :-)

Hi Sonos, I'm sat here on New Years Day streaming music through the Windows 8 music app on my new Dell XPS 12. There's also a Sonos speaker next to me but no way to use it with this service. What a shame.

I support the request for a Windows 8 Modern App from Sonos but would also like you to allow streaming from Microsoft's Music app as well. That's a no brainer revenue opportunity for yourselves surely?......advertise to the 100's of millions of Windows 8 users that the free music service they are streaming could be pumped out into sonos gear....

I have a Surface and WP. Would really, really enjoy being able to control the music through these devices. Currently, I have to use an old iPhone 3G and it's terribly slow.

Please please do. I love my Sonos, but now I have Windows 8 it would improve the experience no end to have a Metro tile going straight to the controller without having to faff around with the desktop interface.
